π» Why I Started My Own Blog After Getting Kicked Off Substack
You know that saying, “everything happens for a reason”?
Well… sometimes the reason doesn’t make sense at first. Like the day I opened my inbox and found out that Substack had kicked me off.
Not because I said something controversial.
Not because I broke their rules.
But because Stripe, their
payment processor, didn’t like that I was an
affiliate marketer.
Yep. That’s it.
Apparently, helping women build online income through affiliate marketing was just a little too rebellious for their comfort zone.
At first, I was annoyed. Like — seriously? I finally find a platform I love, a place to write and connect, and suddenly it’s “Nope, you’re out” because I share affiliate links?
It felt unfair. Especially when you know you’re playing by the rules and your only “crime” is trying to teach others how to earn income online.
The Moment I Realized It Wasn’t a Setback — It Was a Redirection
Once I got over the frustration (and maybe a few muttered words π), something shifted.
I realized this wasn’t the end of anything. It was actually the Universe nudging me to build my own platform — one that no one could take away from me.
No more being at the mercy of algorithms, terms, or faceless companies deciding what I can or can’t say.
I wanted a space where I could:
✅ Write freely about affiliate marketing without worrying if it’s
“allowed.”
✅ Share my story and lessons learned as a woman building flexible income
streams.
✅ Encourage others to take back control of their income and creativity.
So that’s exactly what I did.
I Built My Own Blog (And It Feels So Good)
This time, it’s mine.
My design. My voice. My rules.
It’s a space where I talk openly about what’s working online — from affiliate marketing strategies and side hustles that actually pay, to mindset shifts that help you stop second-guessing yourself.
No gatekeepers. No censorship. No middlemen.
Just real talk about building online income in a way that fits your life — especially if you’re a woman juggling family, work, or that midlife “what’s next?” phase.
What I Learned From Being Kicked Off Substack
Here’s the truth: sometimes when something is taken away, it’s because you were never meant to stay there.
If I’d stayed on Substack, I might’ve kept playing small — writing under someone else’s roof, following someone else’s rules.
But now? I’ve got my own digital home.
And I want to encourage you — if you’ve ever been shut out, rejected, or redirected — to look at it differently. Maybe it’s not rejection. Maybe it’s redirection toward something even better.
If You’re an Affiliate Marketer or Online Entrepreneur…
Here’s my advice: don’t build your entire business on borrowed land.
Platforms are amazing tools — but they can change their rules overnight.
Your voice, your message, and your income deserve to live on something
you own.
So whether it’s starting a blog, building an email list, or creating your own website — take that first step.
And if you need inspiration or guidance on how to start, stick around here —
because I’ll be sharing everything I’ve learned about:
π‘ Starting your own blog
π‘ Making money through affiliate marketing
π‘ Building flexible, purpose-driven income online
Final Thoughts
Getting kicked off Substack was one of those “wait, what just happened?” moments that felt unfair… but turned out to be a blessing.
Now I have a place that’s completely my own — where I can share, teach, and build without limits.
So if you’ve ever felt like you don’t fit into the traditional mold… maybe that’s because you were meant to build your own table.
And that’s exactly what I’m doing here.
